This summer has been amazing but also has gone so fast, in the blink of an eye is already the middle of August!. I just couldn’t helped thinking about the last two years 2019/2020 and the vacation time we had .
In 2019 my first son Nico and I went to California for the summer, we were there for almost 2 weeks and we visited and stayed with family. Also I must say it was my first time traveling with a 7 year old while being pregnant with my second baby.
I must say, it was challenging but I was very proud of my self and Nico for being such a good helper and very well behaved, we arrived at night and we were so tired that we literally went to bed right away. Next morning the time zone change hit us and we were up way too early ( Iowa is 2 hours ahead of California) so a cup of coffee and a good breakfast was much needed!
During our time there , we got the opportunity to visit some of the best touristic places such as the San Diego USS Midway and Aircraft Museum, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Sea World San Diego, the California Wolf Center, etc . We also visited small shops and businesses over La Jolla Beach California , went to the amazing Legoland California (which I recommend , is super fun for kids) and we walked through Balboa Park!!
It was an amazing experience, not just for me but for my son; he got to learned so much about a new place and the history of it. Also I must say , staying in San Diego was beautiful, a little to hot for this mama being pregnant but everything got compensated with the delicious Latin food I got to eat!
If you have visited California, then you know there are a lot of Latinex owned restaurants and their food is just amazing! I got to try Mexican, and Puerto Rican food and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint.
One of the restaurants we went to was Berta’s Latin Cuisine, great quality food and service, unfortunately because of Covid-19 this restaurant had to close their doors, but I’m hoping they will reopen, I would love to go back there again with my whole family one day.
Our travel time came to an end and we had to go back home , we came back right on time for father’s day and we left behind San Diego, but we will never forget all the good time we had there, all the good memories we created with our family and we will forever cherish all the beautiful scenes that we got to see there.
Until next time California!!
